Abstract Many preparation methods for gold nano particle in ordered frame work or substrate have been invented to achieve high optical sensitivity and selectivity, however the complicate and long each step has leaded to low productivity and cost problem for commercialization. In this study, we report a direct synthesis of gold nano particle via meso porous silica thin film with long range orderness. In mesoporous silica thinf film, we introduced self assembly method via using tri- block copolymer. Especially, the hydrophilic part of tri-block polymer shows hydrophilic characteristics, and this part leads to electrostatic interaction between plus charged metal ion. And then SiO2 polymerization on this hydrophilic layer of the tri- block copolymer, finally annealing process for removal the tri-block copolymer is followed and dewetted gold nano particle is obtained. The gold nano particle on mesoporous silica thin film shows even distribution with tunable optical properties and evenly distributed high density gold nano particle. This system which has two combined function of separation and optical distinction in low concentrated molecules, has lot of potential in biomedical sensor and actuator.
