BIOGRAPHY

Flexible Sensors and Energy Harvesters [BPN855]
Wearable and implantable devices are expected to become more abundant due to developments in materials and microfabrication technologies. However, battery replacement is a major problem for these systems. Shrinking the size of sensors and actuators also reduces their power requirements, and it makes energy harvesting a viable solution as a renewable power source. In this project, we work with various sets of flexible materials to develop 1) an energy harvester to generate electrical power to either extend battery life or eliminate the battery; 2) sensors to detect biological signals from different parts of the body.
